Porch Screens

Porch screens make the perfect addition to a front or back porch. With the addition of a screen you can keep out the pesky insects and still enjoy the fresh air, both night and day. There are many times when you won't want to have a screen in the way and this is where having a retractable screen will come in handy. These screens come with a chain that allows you to pull up the screen or lower it as you see fit.

Many screens for porches also come with sliding doors or windows, so that you can still have part of the porch protected. When you are measuring the porch for the screen you need, make sure you allow for a 3/8 inch margin of error. Most of these screens have retractable openings up to 98 inches in height and you have a choice in vertical or horizontal openings. Withy sliding screen doors, there is an upper track only so you won't have to worry about tripping over a lower track.

With a horizontal roll up screen, there is also an upper track. This type of screen is suitable for o9penings ranging from 3 to 16 feet. A vertical version usually comes in 8 X 8 foot sizes. This type of screen is a special order so you will have to take your measurements and place the order with the supplier of your choice. Just keep in mind that if you do make a mistake in measuring, you will still have to pay for the screen if it doesn't fit. For this reason, it would be wise to have a representative of the company do the measuring for you. If you don't have the time or inclination to do the installation, you can have the screen professionally installed for an extra charge.
