How can I stop a cat from spraying my porch?
There is a cat in our neighborhood who is constantly spraying our porch. We have tried some cleaning spray from the pet store that simulates the pheromones so theoretically the cat will think it has already sprayed and will leave it alone, but it has not worked. Our next step is to buy a cat trap and take the cat to the animal shelter once we catch it, but I would like to avoid that.
Answer: That cat is obviously an unneutered male. Unless you can catch him and get him neutered, he will continue to spray. Try leaving moth balls around by your porch and house. He won't like the smell and probably move on to spray someone else's porch.
