Is there a natural way to rid my back porch or Black Widows?

I have tons of black widows in my back yard...I've even found a few in my house near my back door, behind my fish tank. Yes, I'm very sure they are black widows, they have the hour glass thing on them. Last night I found one behind my dogs water bowl, where my son was playing earlier in the day. It was the biggest one I have ever seen almost the size of a quarter. I don't know why I saw it, but I pretty much drowned it in wasp spray.
Ok so I have dogs and a toddler, so I don't want to use something that could hurt them.
So what do I do? Am I forced to get a professional to spray? Is that safe for my family?
Wasp spray...yeah I know it's poison, I know its not exactly safe. I didn't say I thought that was safe, but at the time I Thought other than trying to swat it, it was my only option. And they was no way I was getting close enough to swat it. Like I said the thing was huge, don't they jump too? (I'm not sure) Also I live in the middle of nowhere desert, not exactly wet here. But thanks I'll def spray the porch down.

Answer:
Spiders are smarter than we think. I'll bet you have a light on the porch that stays on most of the night, or a lot of light coming ot of the house onto the porch. They are building webs there to catch the flying bugs attracted to the light. Cut down on the light. Painting the porch will also help. Fresh paint repels bugs for a while. You can also spray the areas of the porch where they build webs with soapy water every few days.
Kill the existing ones with any kind of bug spray and sweep don all the webs, then spray with soapy water.
